2022 has a lot in store for us. We are actively planning our wedding as we are getting married on 2nd July this year. We have also been looking at headstones for Sophia's grave and have made the decision to move to Mayo and are actively house hunting.
I have been in Dublin since starting college in 2013, my nursing colleagues have become like family to me and if I could move my job to Mayo it'd make life perfect but that's not how life works. So we close the chapter of life in Dublin, my resignation handed in. A very hard decision to make as I was offered a position in the new day hospital for adolescents in Dublin, but Sophia thought me life's biggest lesson and as a result Samson comes before my career plus it'll be nice to be able to visit Sophia as often as I please. I will apply to CAMHS eventually here in Mayo but I know there's not as many opportunities in Mayo for me to work with children and adolescents with mental health difficulties.
There's a lot of change to come this year, with us also getting married 2nd July 2022. We booked our date when we were expecting Sophia, I remember meeting the priest chatting about it with a kicking baby girl inside. Planning our wedding has been difficult as our original plans included a 2 year old flower girl so for the entirity of 2020 I couldn't face planning because facing it meant facing the fact my 2 year old would not be by my side. Since our rainbow arrived It was easier to face and I've come up with several ways of including Sophia into our day but it's very much last minutes plans as a result of my grief.
Sophia will also hopefully have her headstone erected this year too which will be another lovely change. I don't know what else is in store for 2022 but I'm just hoping for a lot of luck to make up for the awful luck we've had the past two years!! Fingers crossed for us.
